10 Months!

My baby is 10 months old already, and it kind of snuck up on me. I totally missed it yesterday-ostrich mode I suppose.
We put the big boy carseats in the vehicles today, and the baby seat and stroller are put away. He's tipping the scale at over 20 pounds, so at least my arm will get a little break.
At 10 months he:
Can say Mama (and dadadada and ba). If you ask him to say dada he says mama instead :)
He can pull up and stand, and will let go momentarily.
He loves food- anything and everything as long as he is offered some. He gets mad if you are eating and he isn't.
He thinks his brother is hilarious.
He loves to splash in the bath and shower.
He doesn't like things on his head.
He wears 12 & 18 month clothes and size 4 diapers.
He starts to jump up & down when he sees Mama.

6 months old!

I'm kind of in shock that my baby is 6 months old. It seems like his birth was so long ago, and that he's still so little all at the same time. He is such a sweet little guy, always smiling and moving.
He and I took at trip to California at the beginning of Christmas break to see my brother graduate(!). He was the best travel partner I could've asked for. Even after our terribly delayed flights and running through airports he was happy and smiling.

At 6 months he:
Has eaten in some very interesting places.
Is now eating a variety of foods: apples, squash, rice & oatmeal cereals, peas (that was a funny face!), sweet potatoes
Is very close to having teeth. I'm going to miss his big gummy grin.
Loves to bounce & is always in motion- if he is awake, he is moving.
Wears 6-12 or 9 month clothes & size 3 diapers. I can't wait to see how big he is on Monday at his check-up.
Is sitting on his own, though he still flops over or folds forward when he gets tired.
Loves to laugh at his big brother.

3 Months Old

My baby B is 3 months old today! It seems like much longer than that, we went through so much right after he was born!
At 3 months he...
-Is super smiley
-Enjoys the "Big Bang Theory" theme song
-Likes to hang onto his triceratops, and sometimes the paci.
-Loves to watch his big brother.
-Is always happy in the bath.
-Likes his car seat, but only if it is moving.
-Wakes up once or twice a night (not bad!) even though he HATES to be swaddled.
-Likes his swing and his mat.
-Likes to watch his hands (and to chew on them)
-Wears size 1 diapers (but not for long), size 3 month and 6 month clothes, and 6-12 month socks.

Birth Story part 1

When July 3rd came and went with just some "pre-labor" I was pretty sure that baby brother was going to take his sweet time, just like his big brother. After trying to spot some 4th of July fireworks & going to bed I started having many more "practice contractions", or so I thought. Throughout the night I tried to get comfortable, but just couldn't....by the time my mom came to take me to my doctor's appointment everyone (but me) was pretty sure I was in labor. I still thought it was probably just stupid "pre-labor". Of course when I saw my doctor she said I was a 5 and ready to go to the hospital. She also asked why I didn't come in earlier, to which I replied, "well, I knew I had an appointment today". (Totally clueless was I). So I called hubby to get the bag (of course I hadn't brought it!) and come meet me at the hospital. After I got checked in my mom took Dean & they took me upstairs.

They drew my blood to get bloodwork done for my epi & started doing to intake paperwork. My husband and the anesthesiologist arrived around the same time. I got my epidural (heaven, once again) and asked the nurse if I could have a nap. The on-call doctor said I could have an hour & then I was going to have a baby. The doctor came in & had me do some "practice pushes", about 20 minutes later, Ben was here! He weighted 7 pounds, 1 oz. and was 20 inches long. He latched on right away & started eating, so we had about an hour of resting & snuggling before his bath and whatnot. After his bath the nurse noticed he was a little jittery, so she decided to check his blood sugar. When the meter beeped & she saw that it was very low, he was quickly wheeled to the nursery while we followed close behind.....

2 months!

I can't believe that Benjamin is already 2 months old! (I also can't believe that this is the first "Ben" blog post, but I've been busy, right?)
We went to the doctor for his well baby visit & after all the initial drama, he looks good! He weighs 11 pounds 15.5 oz and is 23.25 inches long (he was 7 pounds 1 oz and 20 inches at birth). He is wearing 3 month clothes at the moment, but they are starting to get small & short, so I think I might have to get the 6 month clothes out this weekend! He loves to play on his mat & look at the lights & the blue bird. He likes to smile for mama & give me angry looks when I give him to dad, but am still right there. He also loves his bath...it is SO nice to have a happy baby in the bathtub!
