23 months!

At 23 months Dean is talking an amazing amount. He learns new words everyday, and he'll occasionally come out with something he used to ask "what's that" about and then all of the sudden he'll use that word even if we haven't mentioned it in a long time. He loves to look at bugs and butterflies and all kinds of farm animals. If we drive down a road by our house you can see cows and sheep and horses & when we pass them he yells "cows, Moo" and "hee-haw" and so on. He loves all kinds of cars, trucks and trains (basically anything with wheels) and loves to make their noises and drive them all over everything. The fire truck is currently his favorite, and he likes to make the siren sound. He loves to be pushed on his ride-on fire truck "fast!" He likes to play a game where we make "angry face & happy face and sad face" He says "angry face" and then makes an angry face and then he laughs and says "happeee face" It is guaranteed to put him in a good mood! He also likes to say "ready, set, GO" and run off down the hall. He wears mostly 24 months and some 2T clothes, size 5 diapers and is ready for size 7 shoes.

22 Months!

At 22 months Dean continues to talk more and more. He is good about asking for what he wants, more or less, and is starting to say please "More milk peese". Thank you kind of sounds like "all done" though, so I think I'm just deluding myself! He also recognizes that some things are his, and some are other people's, like dada juice, dada suck (which is dada's truck) or dada shoe, or mama fleefly (which is butterfly for those of you who don't speak Dean). He has recently discoverd non-butterfly bugs also, which is fun when we are outside! He loves anything to do with choo-choo or vroom, he is in near constant posession of a truck or car. He likes to say what people are doing, though mostly when they are sleeping "dada seep" or "dat (cat) seep", and likes to lay down with a pillow and a blanket and pretend to sleep on the floor. What a ham!
He can sing the beginning of "Row, row row your boat" and parts of "Old McDonald". He is crazy about hats, both his actual hats and random bowls and things that make nice hats when they are empty. He's gotten quite adept with silverware, though still resorts to his fingers eventually. He loves cooked onions "noodles" and honey mustard, he'd eat both like they were a main course if he could.
He is wearing mostly 24 month clothes, with a few 2t in the mix. He has size 6 shoes, but not for much longer, and size diapers.
On Sunday he dragged Nala (from the Lion King, she's about 2 feet tall) out of his room and first tried to sit on and ride her like his pony, and then fed her "nummy". He would give her one goldfish at a time, and then later just put his whole snack dish on her snout. It was super cute!

21 Months!

At 21 Months Dean is continuing to talk more every day. He's started putting together small sentences, 2 words or so. He still loves apple juice, but can also ask for "milk" by name. He asks to "seat" whenever we pass by a chair or bench of any sort, and if he sits on the front stoop he pats beside him to tell me to sit too. He loves all sorts of trucks and trains "vroom-vrooms or choo-choos", and since we have lots of them in town he loves to point out when he can hear or see them, but doesn't enjoy when the trains are too close. He can almost jump, and still runs crazily all over. He can give kisses (though pretty much only to mum) and hi-fives and pound it. He learned to say puppy when we were at a birthday party with some crazy pugs :) and now any time he hears a puppy barking he says "PUPPY!" He also calls all our cats Bo, although we think he knows that the black one is the only one who is actually named Bo. He loves his baff, and showers, and starts asking about them as soon as we get home from school. When the bath is all gone he says "bye baff" and we get ready for bed. He likes to ride his little foot-powered 4-wheeler all around outside, preferrably backwards down the driveway, and then he laughs like a maniac when I catch him. He's still in size 6 shoes (though that won't be too much longer), size 5 diapers, and size 24 months or 2T clothes, but the pants are often too long!
